The Big Lunch goes from strength to strength, with almost 10 million people attending this year’s event. This year’s event was also the greenest yet, with top tips, planet-friendly recipes and ideas for swapping and sharing and avoiding waste. As a result, independent research carried out by PHAR Partnerships revealed that 79% of attendees saying they are now more likely to get more involved in actively supporting nature and the environment.
Starting as an idea from The Eden Project in 2009, The Big Lunch is now the UK’s largest annual get-together for neighbours and communities, helping people connect with each other and encouraging friendlier, safer communities.
PHAR has been running the official research programme for The Big Lunch since 2018, tracking the event’s growth from just over 5 million participants to nearly 10 million.
