PHAR has been appointed to advise Transport for Greater Manchester on the sponsorship opportunity represented by the ambitious Made To Move programme.
Made to Move is a 15-step plan to transform Greater Manchester into one of the best places in the world to walk and cycle, making active travel easy, attractive and safe. The vision of Olympic gold medallist Chris Boardman following his appointment by Mayor Andy Burnham as Greater Manchester’s first Cycling and Walking Commissioner, the programme proposes a 10-year £1.5 billion infrastructure fund to create world class streets for walking and build one of the world’s best cycle networks.
Flagship elements of the programme include introduction of an extensive cycle hire scheme and the creation of the Bee Network, an 1,800 mile network of walking and cycling routes with safe junctions across major roads.
PHAR’s report examines the assets with the strongest sponsorship potential, and advises how the opportunities and related rights and benefits can be structured into a deliverable commercial framework.
